Troubleshooting
Something will go wrong. That is normal. This page is about getting unstuck with calm, repeatable steps, not about blaming anyone.
First things to try
- Restart the game. Half of odd states clear when you fully quit the launcher, wait a few seconds, and launch again.
- Launch with only Create, its dependencies, and Aeronautics – a fresh test profile, not your full pack. If that works, add other mods in batches. If it does not, your issue is in the small set.
- Update your graphics drivers and the Java your launcher picks, when the error mentions rendering or a native library. A surprising number of “mod bugs” are driver lines.
Reading a crash log, without fear
Open the newest log file, scroll to the bottom, and look for the first red error, then a few dozen lines above it. The bottom line is often a symptom; the name of a class or a mod a little higher is the clue. If you have never shared a log before, upload the file to a paste site, set it to not expire in five minutes, and share the link – do not dump fifty thousand lines into a chat message.
Getting help that actually works
Before you post, collect: Minecraft version, loader, Create version, Aeronautics version, a short description of what you were doing, and whether it happens in a clean test world. The official issue tracker, linked from GitHub, is the right home for confirmed bugs, not for casual venting. Community chats are better for “am I the only one seeing this after today’s update?”
If you are stuck between two mod behaviors, the Compatibility page may jog your memory about common clashes. The FAQ collects shorter answers in one list.
